If you visited our Official Facebook Community recently, you must have seen the popular post by Çağlayan Narta about the Terminator head that he printed using a Craftbot Flow printer. We asked him about his prints, what he does and what printers he uses, you can read all about it here:
Çağlayan Narta is a graduate computer engineer based in Stockholm, Sweden. His main business is in the automotive industry; he provides diagnostic control software for heavy vehicles and yachts and he is known as the creator of several programs in Assam protocol. He started in the world of modeling and 3D printing as a hobby, about 7 years ago, and now he is an expert in 3D printers.
He owns multiple 3D printers, namely a Craftbot Flow Single, an Ultimaker S3, a Sigmax R19 and a Flash Forge Creative 4 HS. He says that he has a good command of slicer programs such as Cura, Orca Slicer, FlashPrint, Bambu Studio, BCN3D Cura and Craftware.
As for modeling and design programs, he has expertise in technical and organic softwares such as Fusion360, Solidworks 2023 and Autodesk Meshmixer.
We all know that in 3D printing, finding the right filament is almost just as important as finding the right printer. Çağlayan uses a wide variety of filaments and has favorite filaments from many brands with many different properties. PEEK and PC FR filaments and everything they allow especially fascinate him.
“During print preparation, I test whether the filament I choose is suitable for printing, I analyze detailed filament analysis. Every day I do some research and continue to improve myself.” – he says.
When asked about Craftbot specifically, he says he met the Craftbot brand this year and he is very satisfied with their service.
“I have been using 3D printers for about 7 years and I have experienced many professional and first user printers. Yes, 3D printing is a bit knowledge-based and you can improve yourself with experience, but Craftbot fascinated me with its ergonomic and easy-to-understand solutions at every step from setup to printing and even if you encounter any problems.” – he claims.
With the Craftbot Flow series, which he says is an extremely reassuring 3D printer, he never worries when he leaves the printer alone. Sometimes he doesn’t even check the printer for days when there is a large project being printed. “I have never experienced this working confidence in any other 3D printer.”
About his goals with 3D printing, he says he has a boutique store 3Dfunlab on Etsy. He sells the models he designed in this store. Although it is a very new store, it has been operating for 4 months and he has already become a star seller.
“As someone who has always been interested in mechanics and robotics, Terminator is not my special interest, it is just one of my big projects. I did this project because I thought that life-size characters would attract more interest in the 3D printer industry and I have many ongoing projects. Terminator is a start in the commercial field.” – he tells me about the amazing print he posted in our Facebook group.
